WYDOT Releases State Transportation Improvement Program Update

Another update to WYDOT”s “State Transportation Improvement Program” (STIP) for 2012 has been issued and is available for viewing on the agency’s Web site, www.dot.state.wy.us.

Smokebusters Remove Trees at Camp Guernsey

Efforts to remove dangerous trees left ruined by previous fires, continue as a part of a mixed group of safety, reclamation and training programs at the Wyoming National Guard’s Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center.

Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office Issues Scam Alert

Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield wants to warn Wyoming business owners of a deceptive solicitation letter and form that has surfaced in many states.

Maxfield says businesses have received a letter and form that appears to be an “Annual Minutes Disclosure Statement.”  According to a news release,  the form seems to insinuate that it is to be filled out and a fee paid in order for the businesses to comply with state and national laws.  These forms may even reference “state statutes”, “piercing the corporate veil” or “the Patriot Act.”

Buford, WY Sold to Highest Bidder

BUFORD, Wyo. (AP) — A town advertised as the smallest in the United States has sold at auction for $900,000.

Buford, Wyo., is located between Cheyenne and Laramie in southeast Wyoming. Two unidentified Vietnamese men placed the winning bid for the town on Thursday.

Wyoming’s Revenue Slow and Steady [AUDIO]

Wyoming oil and gas industry officials have recommended a number o experts, including four from Wyoming, to review a recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency report on well water contamination near Pavillion. Money continued to flow into the state’s main checking account in January at a pace slightly ahead of the Consensus Revenue Estimating Group’s  (CREG) January forecast. Gov. Mead Applauds FERC Decision on Water Project [AUDIO]

Governor Matt Mead applauded the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s decision Thursday to dismiss an application for a permit to build a water pipeline from Wyoming’s  Flaming Gorge Reservoir  to Colorado’s front range.
