Casper Has One of the Highest Divorce Rates in the Country
D I V O R C E is an ugly word! Not to mention that is comes with some very unpleasant consequences financially as well as emotionally for couples call it quits. But the good news is that divorce rates as a whole have actually declined over the last decade. Unfortunately the people in Casper Wyoming don’t appear to have gotten that message yet.
According to a recent study published by 24/7 Wall St. the divorce rates are going down. From 4 divorces per 1000 people in 2000 to 3.2 divorces per 1000 people in 2014. Most marriages that end in divorce lasted just under 10 years according to the study.
In Casper, 15.1% of the population is or has been divorced. 50.6% of the population is married and 27.3% of the population has never married.
According to the study, Casper has the 12th highest divorce rate among cities across the country.
