Cheyenne Has Rare “Thundersnow” Storm Monday Night [Video]
If Cheyenne residents stayed up late Monday night, they may have experienced some unique weather phenomenons.
A rare “thundersnow” storm was observed between approximately 10:30 p.m. and midnight. The combination of thunder and snow happens occasionally in the Great Lakes and Rocky Mountain regions specifically, usually in the spring.
With temperatures hovering just above the freezing mark for most of the night, residents briefly experienced some slick conditions. Most of the ice had melted by sunrise, however.
