Staff and students in Laramie County School District #1 are stepping up this holiday season to help those less fortunate.

The East Cares Foundation is a year round effort that has existed for about ten years. Staff members raise money and collect items for students. At Christmastime, organizers develop lists of items students need and items they may want so that they have presents. Additionally the program operates a pantry stocked year round with nonperishable food, personal hygiene items, socks and more.

Through Tuesday December 16, the school will collect nonperishable food and toys for the Salvation Army.
