The Wyoming Cowboys have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, after they fell in the Border War Saturday, 78-73, to Colorado State.

The difference proved to be Wyoming’s inability to knock down shots. The Pokes hit just 36 percent from the field compared to CSU’s 44 percent.

Head coach Allen Edwards pointed to that in his comments after the game, especially a scoring drought of eight minutes in the first half. He also talked about missed free throws down the stretch, little details and execution and more.

Alan Herndon and Hayden Dalton led the Cowboys with 18 points apiece. Justin James added 16. Those three were involved in the post-game press conference. They talked about not being aggressive on offense, but also not playing better defensively, the amount of fouls and free throws, plus a lack of ball movement.

Wyoming is now 11-7 on the season and 2-3 in the Mountain West, which has them in 9th place. The Pokes will have all week to work on things with their next game at Utah State on Saturday, Jan. 20. That game starts at 7 p.m.
