The Wyoming Cowboys are nearing the mid-point of spring football practice after going through their seventh session Tuesday afternoon.

Head coach Craig Bohl says some sickness has rolled through the team. It even kept three starters out of practice Tuesday, but Bohl said they were still able to get work done.

Bohl talked about the unproven group of running backs, in particular red-shirt sophomore Kellen Overstreet and sophomore Milo Hall. Bohl also discussed their two young safeties, sophomore Alijah Halliburton and red-shirt freshman Josh Boyd. He’s been pleased this spring with the continued development of sophomore kicker Cooper Rothe.

Wyoming returns to practice on Thursday with their eighth session before heading to Casper Saturday for a scrimmage. That will start at 1 p.m. from Cheney Alumni Field at Natrona County High School. This outreach event is open to the public and media.
