UPDATE: Cheyenne Fire Causes $50,000 in Damage
Cheyenne firefighters responded to a fire early this (Tuesday) morning in the 900 block of West 20th Street.
When firefighters arrived at 4:44 a.m. they found a large lumber and construction pile on fire which had spread to an unoccupied, single-story home.
The 15 firefighters had the fire under control in quick order. Snyder Avenue and 20th Street was closed so firefighters could easily access a water supply.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage was estimated at about $50,000.
Details were not immediately available on what appeared to be a large structure fire near the intersections of 20th and Snyder Streets in Cheyenne early Tuesday.
Several Cheyenne Fire and Rescue firetrucks were on the scene around 5 a.m. Tuesday, as were several Cheyenne Police Department cars which were blocking off traffic to the intersection.
We will report further details on the blaze as soon as they become available.
