The Union Pacific Railroad steam locomotive engine No. 844 will be making the first of two stops in Laramie Tuesday morning.

No. 844, the Living Legend, according to up.com, made its return to service last year and pulled a Cheyenne Frontier Days special. It also went out to Memphis, TN for the grand opening of the Big River Crossing.

After a test run last week from Cheyenne to Greeley, CO and back, engine No. 844 will begin its westbound journey to Idaho for the ‘Boise Turn Special.’ No. 844 will depart Cheyenne at 8 a.m. tomorrow and stop at the historic Laramie Train Depot. The time of arrival is 9:45 a.m., with departure at 10:15 a.m.

After going through several towns in Wyoming, Idaho and Utah, No. 844 will head back eastbound to Cheyenne. It’s scheduled to stop in Laramie again on April 28 from 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
