Although plenty of Kelsea Ballerini's fanbase and friends were over the moon after hearing that she had earned a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Country Album on Friday (Dec. 7), the honor was particularly important to one special supporter. Ballerini shared a video to Twitter of herself FaceTiming her mom, Carla, to share the exciting news, and although the video was posted without sound, the expressions on both of their faces is priceless.

"This woman moved me to Nashville to pursue music when I was 15 years old," Ballerini explained in her post. "Today I got to call her and tell her about my 2nd Grammy nom for an album that she watched me live. Her face says it all. I love you Mom."

On Instagram, Ballerini elaborated further on the recognition of her album, Unapologetically, explaining that she'd resigned herself to the fact that the project would never be as critically successful as it was popular with her fans. "It's been out for over a year, and it's never been nominated, but the bond it gave you and I was something I hadn't felt before," she explained, speaking directly to those who'd listened to and loved the album over that time period.

"To me, that was the award and I had accepted that critically, it didn't land like it did between us," she continued. "But, the pinnacle of music lovers and listeners just nominated Unapologetically for a damn GRAMMY. Beaming with pride on this. Never ever expected this. I love y'all. What a year. Thank you."

Ballerini released Unapologetically, her sophomore album, in November of 2017. Her 2019 nomination marks her second Grammy nod; she was nominated in 2016 for Best New Artist, and brought her mother to the awards show with her that year.

The 2019 Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., on Feb. 10. The televised ceremony will begin at 8PM ET on CBS; the pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony will be available to stream online earlier in the evening. Further details, including a list of performers, will be announced in the coming weeks.
