As tourist season winds down and the locals get the more of our great outdoors to ourselves, take advantage the world class fishing we have here in Wyoming. The streams and lakes have plenty of fish just waiting to jump in your frying pan.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle says that fishing is good all across the state, but three places shine the brightest.

The beaver ponds at Pole Mountain, Snowy Range and, no surprise, North Platte River – Gray Reef.

If you are new to fishing, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department offers a pretty handy fishing guide that can be downloaded here.  They also offer a list of public access areas.

The time to fish is now. Wyoming’s total solar eclipse lasted, 2 minutes and 26 seconds, and that’s about how much daylight we’re losing each day as we get into September, losing 2 minutes and 36 seconds per day, leading up to the Autumn equinox, September 22.

The first day of September will have 13 hours and 5 minutes of daylight, so take advantage of the good weather and get out and enjoy Wyoming’s world class fishing.

You can already feel the change that is coming, so this is the time to get out and take advantage of what is some very good fishing right now.
