Apparently a big fuss is being raised over drinking straws. Is all that plastic bad for the environment? For those who think it's a problem, they would like to do something about it.

A few cities have banned plastic straws in an effort to keep them out of their landfills.

A few companies are tackling the issue by replacing straws with a new sort of drinking lid. But, there is a problem with these lids using more plastic than the straws they are replacing.

Is a new lid the solution? Do we need a solution? What if there is not an issue to begin with?

Should we ban straws? Should we just let companies and individuals decide for themselves?
