Let's face it, there's a lot of really cool dudes here in Wyoming. The Cowboy State has the second highest ratio of men to women, 104.3 males to every 100 females, in the country. Certainly, not all of the estimated 294,281 dudes in Wyoming are 'cool', but many of us are.

The travel site Thrillist recently published an article listing "The Coolest Dude From Every State". Of course, there were plenty of way cool Wyoming dudes to choose from; dudes like Chris LeDoux, Dick Cheney, Harrison Ford, Jay Novacek, and the guy who played Officer Jon Baker on CHIPs.

While Wyoming has its fair share of cool dudes, there can only be one coolest dude. According to the Thrillist list, the coolest dude in the history of the Cowboy State is Jackson Pollock.

Born in Cody, Pollock went on to become one of the most influential American artists of the 20th century. A legend in his own time, he was revered as a pioneer of the abstract expressionist movement.

Nearly 40 years after his death, many of his works remain among the most valuable pieces of art in the world. In 2013, Pollock's Number 19, originally painted in 1948, sold at auction for over $58 million. That's pretty cool.
