The home improvement website House Beautiful recently published a list honoring 50 of the Most Historic Houses in America.

Their pick for the most historic home in the Cowboy State is the "Castle of the Hill" in Sheridan.

Built by wealthy cattle baron and former Wyoming governor John Benjamin Kendrick, the 14,000 square foot mansion was constructed in the Flemish Revival sytle

The palatial estate was finally completed in 1913 and still stands to this day as the part of the Trail End State Historic Site. It is also rumored to be one of the most haunted buildings in Wyoming.
