Only five games into his junior season, Brian Hill already holds the University of Wyoming all-time rushing record.

If Hill opts to return for his senior season next year, he'll have 19 games left in his collegiate career to add to it.

To make the record even more remarkable, the Pokes have compiled a record of just 9-20 during Hill's tenure in Laramie, allowing defenses to stack the line of scrimmage against him.

Which begs the question, where does Hill rank among the best players to ever wear the brown and gold?

Here's our completely subjective and totally unofficial list..

1. Conrad Dobler - After a standout collegiate career at UW, the rugged offensive lineman made three Pro Bowls as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 70’s and is widely regarded as one of the meanest players in NFL history.

2. Jim Kiick - Arguably the greatest running back to ever play at Wyoming, Kiick went on to play in three Super Bowls and was a member of the NFL's only undefeated team, the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

3.  Dave Hampton - Along with Kiick, Hampton led the Pokes potent running attack in 1967, when Wyoming compiled a 10-0 regular season record and earned a birth in the Sugar Bowl. Hampton later spent 8 years with the Atlanta Falcons, leading the NFL in all-purpose yards in 1972. Following an injury, he was also named the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year in 1975.

4. Jay Novacek - A rarely used target in the Cowboys run-oriented offense during the early '80s, the tight end went on to play in five Pro Bowls and was a three-time Super Bowl champion.

5. Marcus Harris - Although he never made it in the NFL, Harris is the most prolific wide receiver in Wyoming history, The two-time first team All-American tallied 258 receptions, 4,518 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns during his collegiate career. He was also the recipient of the 1996 Fred Biletnikoff Award honoring the best wide receiver in the nation.

Jerry Hill - The Lingle, Wyoming, native was part of the 1958 Sun Bowl Championship team and later enjoyed an eight-year professional career, playing for the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III and Super Bowl V.

7. Lawrence Gaines - Known as the "Freight Train", Gaines is one of only two former Pokes ever drafted in the first round. Unfortunately, injuries cut his NFL career short, forcing the running back to retire after only three seasons.

8. Ron Billingsley - A member of the 1966 team that went 10-1 and defeated Florida State in the Sun Bowl, the imposing 6'8" defensive tackle was a first-round draft pick in 1967. Billingsley spent five seasons in the NFL.

9. Malcom Floyd - A four-year starter from 2000-2004, the wide receiver was undrafted out of college. After being signed to the San Diego Chargers practice team, Floyd eventually made the active roster and spent 14 years in the NFL before retiring at the end of the 2015 season.

10. Brian Hill - Hill ranks 10th on this list...for now. With the single-season and career rushing records already under his belt, he may eventually go down as the best ever. Unfortunately for us, this could be Hill's last season in Laramie.

According to NFL.com, he is one of the top professional prospects from mid-major football programs and is currently projected to be a second- or third-round draft pick in 2017.
