The beer many experts regard as the "world's best," can currently be purchased in Denver for just $8 a glass. But, we must warn you... this is going to sell out FAST.

In fact, it may already be gone by the time you're reading this...

At Denver's Falling Rock Taphouse you'll find hidden in their menu of over 75 beers... the one and only Pliny The Elder.

Pliny The Elder is also one of just 72 beers worldwide to receive a perfect score from Beer Advocate.

The beer originates from Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, California. They only make a small batch every year, so it's extremely rare unless you live in California. Every year Russian River donates a percentage of profits from the beer to breast cancer research.

Earlier this spring, Falling Rock Taphouse (1919 Blake Ave) in lower downtown Denver hosted two big parties for their limited supply of Pliny The Elder. They blew both of their kegs within two days.

When I hit the establishment earlier this week, I had no idea it would be available, but there it was on the menu. I had to ask the bartender a couple times if he was absolutely sure it was actually Pliny, because it's so rare.

But, there it was in all of it's hoppy, citrusy glory.

The beer is a double IPA at 8% ABV with 100 IBU's.

The nose of the beer is a big hit of citrus with floral notes. The Columbus and Simcoe hop combination stands out, but it is not overpowering.

The mouthfeel is silk-like and smooth. Almost the texture of a nitro it's so smooth.

Finally, the taste is unlike any IPA I've experienced. There is a reason, and it's not just hype, that this beer has won so many awards. The blend of hops mixed with earthy, floral, and citrus notes is magnificent.

It's only $8 a glass at Falling Rock right now, and it will not last long, so if you're planning a trip to Denver and love great beer... check this out for sure!
