Fall begins at 2:02 pm on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017. But of course, Wyoming weather does what it wants whether it’s still summer or not. Before summer is even over, parts of Yellowstone National Park and Grand Targhee Ski Resort received a foot of snow.

Beartooth Pass has been “Closed Due To Winter Conditions,” according to WYDOT.

The trees in fall colors are contrasted with fresh white snow in the shady areas near Mirror Lake and Sand Lake, keeping the Snowy Mountains true to their name.

I was just at Mirror Lake over Labor Day in shorts, sandals, and a T-shirt.

Just north of there, Hanna, Wyoming got their first snow before summer got out the door, while our southwest border town of Evanston also reported falling flakes.

Wyoming is no respecter of Calendars and Mother Nature will snow and blow whenever she feels like it. Best you BE PREPARED.
