Mike Deglau has lost too many friends. So he held a fundraiser, gathered supplies, and built a memorial for fallen bikers outside the town of Wapiti, Wyo.

Located off Wyoming State Highway 20, near the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park, the monument also marks the site of a tragic accident that killed three motorcyclists in 2016.

"It’s just pure coincidence that that is there, but that just adds to the nostalgia of the memorial. That just shows people we got a memorial, and we got three fatalities right across the street,” Deglau told KULR-8.

The land for the monument was donated by friends. WYDOT then volunteered to make a sign marking the memorial, which was installed last week. They hope the tribute will help encourage drivers to watch out for motorcycles on the road.
