Wyoming is a great place to settle down and raise a family. If you're single, though, the Cowboy State can be a lonely place.

In a new study of America's Best and Worst Cities For Singles, both Casper and Cheyenne ranked among the worst.

The study compared 182 cities across the country on a variety of factors, including the percentage of singles, nightlife options and restaurants.

Cheyenne placed 172nd, scoring 41.48 on a scale of 1 to 100. Casper fared better, ranking 117th, with a composite score of 48.44. Both Wyoming towns were rated below the national average for "fun and recreation" and "dating opportunities".

San Francisco finished first on the list, followed by Atlanta, Los Angeles, Denver and San Diego. South Burlington, Vermont, ranked last. Brownsville, Texas, Pembroke Pines, Florida, Hialeah, Florida, and Warkick, Rhode Island, rounded out the bottom five.
