The University of Wyoming recently engaged with a research firm to conduct a study on the value of media exposure with Cowboy Football last season.

The study found the impact was over $46 million for five month span.

Wyoming Senior Associate Athletic Director and radio commentator Kevin McKinney spoke about this impact study and its' benefits to UW and the state with host David Settle during the "Laramie Live on KOWB" radio morning show.

McKinney explained the background behind the process, plus why they decided to do it and spend money on it. He also talked about the fall sports season, what the Wyoming Athletics Department is working on presently and more.

The study determined what amount of money UW would have had to spend to get that type of exposure in TV, radio and print using current advertising rates. It did not account for social media.
