Thanks to the Scripps National Spelling Bee airing this week, Google has released data regarding which word is most commonly misspelled in each state.

Wyoming's most misspelled? Ornery.

Apparently we are the only state that describes things as "ornery."

Some of the other commonly misspelled words in our region...

Colorado - Beautiful

Utah - Leprechaun

Nebraska - Vacuum

Montana - Pneumonia

Idaho - Desert

South Dakota - Gray

And perhaps the most embarrassing award went to New Hampshire who can't spell "diarrhea."

The 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee crowned co-champions last night. After 25 championship rounds and the top two competitors were still tied, two trophies were awarded to Nihar Janga, an 11-year-old from Austin, Texas and Jairam Hathwar, a 13-year-old from Corning, New York.

On a regional note, 13-year-old Lakewood, Colorado native Sylvie LaMontagne, finished fourth overall. She was ninth last year.
