Grady Smith is a YouTuber who focuses on Country Music, the current state of it, and reviews country music with a critical eye from someone who loves the genre. Recently, Smith put out his top picks for new Country albums that came out in the early parts of 2019, and of course, his least favorites.

Smith details that his favorite of the new music to hit the airwaves in 2019 are Flatland Cavalry's Homeland Insecurity, Randy Houser's Magnolia, and Cody Johnson with Ain't Nothing to It. Grady details how the return to form on Houser's new album was especially nice to see in the current country climate.

On the flip side, he's not a fan of Brett Young's Road to LA, saying that the issue with the record stems from a confusion about whether it wants to be pop or country. He lists his least favorite as Mitchell Tenpenny's Telling all My Secrets, which surprised me actually, as I really enjoyed Mitchell Tenpenny. "How the heck can this record be considered a country record?" Smith asks.

What do you think? Do you agree with Smith's picks for the best and worst of 2019 so far? Are there any that you would add to the list that he missed?
