Sure, there've been a few chilly nights in Cheyenne this winter. We've even had some snow. But we know nothing of winter.

In Yellowknife, a city in the Canadian Northwest Territories, it was recently -22F.  It's been nearly 15 years (5,464 days, to be exact) since it has gotten that cold in Cheyenne. So we may have known something about the cold once. But if we have, we've surely forgotten.

(Much credit to the Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service for digging up that little factoid.)
