Luckily, nowadays it's pretty easy to google the lyrics to a song and clarify what they actually are, but that hasn't always been the case. In fact, I'm sure there are still car trip arguments about the correct lyrics in a song when the carpool karaoke gets heated. Here are eight country songs with lyrics that have been misheard, and what the artists are really saying.

Dolly Parton - 9 to 5

Misheard Lyric: And you think that I would daunt you.

Actual Lyric: And you think about it, don’t you?

I don't blame folks for thinking her lyrics were about how daunting she was, Dolly tends to be an intimidating presence!

Jake Owen - Beachin’

Misheard Lyric: White Sand, Cocaine

Actual Lyric: White Sand, Cold Can

While Jake Owen is from Florida, I don't think he's singing about that particular time in the '80s when Narcos was set...

Toby Keith – Shoulda Been a Cowboy

Misheard Lyric: Wearin’ My Sex Shoes.

Actual Lyric: Wearing my six-shooter.

Six-Shooter. Like a gun, folks. I want whoever heard this lyric incorrectly to explain to me what exactly "sex shoes" are. Wait, no, nevermind. Don't tell me.

Brooks and Dunn -  I Am That Man

Misheard Lyric: I am Batman.

Actual Lyric: I am that man.

I can't un-hear this one. It's Batman from now on. Imagining Ronnie Dunn with a black mask and a gravely voice interrogating the joker is too much of a great image.

Thomas Rhett - Parking Lot Party

Misheard Lyric: We had pantyhose and a view of the parking lot.

Actual Lyric: We had a patio with a view of a parking lot

I mean really, these lyrics aren't mutually exclusive if you've ever been to a Pokes Pregame tailgate.

Kenny Chesney - Big Star

Misheard Lyric: Like she was God’s little sister.

Actual Lyric: Like she was Garth Brooks in a skirt.

So many questions. This was an actual interpretation by a listener shortly after the song came out. Why would God's little sister be signing autographs? Why is Garth Brooks in a skirt?

Shania Twain - That Don’t Impress me much

Misheard Lyric: Kiss your carpenter’s knife.

Actual Lyric: Kiss his car goodnight.

I'll be honest, I actually misheard this lyric back when the song first came out. In my defense, I was only six.

Credence Clearwater Revival

Misheard Lyric: There’s a bathroom on the right.

Actual Lyric: There’s a bad moon on the rise.

Say what you want about CCR, but at least they were very courteous hosts- making sure everyone knew where the bathroom was, just in case.

What do you think of some of these misheard lyrics? Do you have any good ones to add? My personal favorite from former country starlet, Taylor Swift's Blank Space. "I gotta love those Starbucks lovers," anyone?
