When former Wyoming quarterback Austyn Carta -Samuels watches the Border War tonight, he'll be rooting against his little brother KJ.

As a freshman in 2009, the Pokes signal caller made one of the most memorable plays in Border War history, stiff-arming a CSU defender on his way to a 49-yard touchdown run that propelled Wyoming to a 17-16 victory in Fort Collins.

"I had some good ones, but that was probably the best play of my college career. We were down six with about 7 minutes left and I went down the right sideline on essentially what was just a quarterback counter and I knew I wasn’t fast enough to get to the end zone," Austyn told the Denver Post. "Since I knew I was too slow to make it past (the cornerback), I threw my arm back and just caught the perfect, flush, quintessential stiff arm and he went straight into the dirt."

KJ was in middle school when Austyn made Border War history. Tonight, the Rams senior quarterback will have the chance to leave his mark on the rivalry. But his big brother will still be pulling for the Pokes.

“I hold a special place in my heart for the Cowboys," Carta-Samuels said. "And come Friday, I’ll be wearing yellow.”
