On Tuesday, July 9, the following roads will be closed at 6 a.m.: 24th St. closed from Central to Carey Ave and Capitol Avenue in 2300 block north of Hathaway Building's driveway. On Wednesday, July 10, Central Avenue from 25th Street to 22nd Street will be closed starting at 10 a.m. Starting at 6 a.m., 24th Street will be closed from Warren Avenue to Carey Avenue, and Capitol Avenue from 24th Street to 22nd Street will also close. Additionally, Carey and Pioneer, 24th and 25th Streets will be closed at approximately 6 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. for the July 10 fireworks show.
Parking around the event will be limited. There will be free Cheyenne Trolley transportation between Spiker Parking Garage, Historic Governor’s Mansion and South Supreme Court Lawn. Spiker Garage departure will be a the top of the hour; Historic Governor's Mansion departure will be at 20 minutes past the hour; and Supreme Court will be 40 minutes past the hour.
About the Event
More than 130 years after it first opened to the public, the Wyoming Capitol is reopening after a critical restoration. July 10 festivities kick off at noon with food truck vendors and music, followed by a ribbon cutting, tours of the Capitol Square Project, more live music and entertainment, and fireworks to mark the end of this important project for the people of Wyoming.
