    A crowd of several thousand people gathered along the downtown parade route for the first of four Cheyenne Frontier Days Grand Parades on Saturday morning. There will be two more Frontier Days Grand Parades in 2022. On Thursday and Saturday.

Additional parades are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of Frontier Days week, all at 9 a.m. and following the same route.

Cheyenne police say they haven't seen an increase in drinking-related calls or citations in the downtown area since the city's new open container law took effect on May 27.

The parades traditionally alternate with the CFD pancake breakfasts during Frontier Days week (except on Sundays), and that tradition will resume this year.

Schools will be able to reopen and resume in-person teaching under updated public health orders that take effect June 15, Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon announced Wednesday.
