It doesn't matter where you were on Wednesday evening (November 17th), you could tell there was a significant drop in the temperature. Earlier this week, we were sitting pretty with some temperatures in the 60s. Sure, there was plenty of wind, but overall, we would take that in mid November. But come Wednesday night, we were the coldest state in the U.S.

Cheyenne, Laramie, Rawlins, and Scottsbluff were among the communities breaking high-temperature records for the date.

Buffalo Could also see highs up to 98 on Friday, which would shatter the record of 91 set in 2012.

NOAA has just released their forecast for the winter and it shows that Wyoming's weather should maybe be normal. "Maybe" is the key word in this forecast.

Several communities saw the mercury drop well down into the 30s and even upper 20s overnight, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

Laramie County officials are keeping a close eye on creek levels as temperatures warm.
