The Dumbest Questions to Ask if You’ve Never Seen Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones is totally based on a board game, right?
One of the biggest shows in the history of the universe is about to come to an end. The final season of Game of Thrones is currently airing and I shutter to think what will happen to the world once the GOT plug is pulled. There is a part of me that believes the show creators are trying to wean us off of the whimsy by placing celebrity cameos in each of the last few episodes, and who could forget the Starbucks coffee cup?!
If that's not a sign that we need to get our heads back in the game of life then I don't know what is.
I'll admit that I haven't seen a single episode. I've read enough recaps to feel like I know enough about it, but I remain quiet in conversations to keep from asking something dumb. Like apparently so many people have done on the Internet.
I Googled "dumb questions to ask if you've never seen Game of Thrones" and found a great article from Cosmopolitan. These were some of my favorite. Also, I may have asked these in my mind at some point...
"Is Jon Snow dead or alive?"
"What happened to the little blonde boy on the throne?"
"Why is everyone naked?"
"What does 'Winter is Coming' mean?"
"What is the iron throne and who gets to sit on it?"
"Who is Hodor and why is he holding a door open?"
I've also decided to include some of my own questions that I've never been bold enough to ask out loud...
Why is everyone obsessed with the length of that woman's hair? Maybe she just likes it short?
Doesn't everyone die?
Is this considered the medieval time period?
There's more than one throne right?
Isn't it based on a board game?
If you're enjoying this, I also found a BuzzFeed article of Game of Thrones According to People Who Have Never Watched It. Also, someone has created a guide to talking about Game of Thrones when you haven't seen a single episode. Together we can get through this.
