The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has posted a winter storm watch for southeast Wyoming starting on Friday night and going through the day on Saturday.

The area covered by the watch includes all of Laramie and Albany counties. The cities of Cheyenne, Laramie, and Torrington are included in the winter storm watch.

The service had this statement posted on its website on Thursday morning:

''For you winter weather enthusiasts, late Friday into Saturday is when we expect the next round of snow to occur. A Winter Storm Watch is now in effect for parts of southeast Wyoming Friday at 5 pm till 8 pm Saturday. Snow will begin Friday afternoon across the north and reach the WY/CO border early Saturday morning. Snowfall totals expected to be 2-5" for the High Plains and upwards of 5-10" with some locally higher amounts in the higher mountains. Stay tuned for the latest updates through the end of the week.''
