Thanks to an anonymous Wyoming resident, the Teton County Search and Rescue now have $100,000 to invest in Lifeseeker to help with rescue missions in the mountains, according to Rapid City Journal.

Most areas in Wyoming are not cellphone signal friendly and if you are hiking through the mountains, something happens and you have no cell service, how do rescuers find you?.  Lifeseeker can go on either a helicopter or plane and locate the person who needs to be rescued even though they have no service on their phone.  As long as the phone is turned on, Lifeseeker can find it.  The phone has to be on and not in airplane mode, the phone needs to be trying to reach cell service.

Lifeseeker was developed in Spain by Centum Research and Technology.  This will be the first time it will be used in the United States.
